IMG_Banner-one   The 4th International Workshop on FEL Science

CXS had the honour of hosting the Fourth International Workshop on FEL Science – “Science Challenges of XFEL”, in collaboration with the SACLA team (SPring-8 Angstrom Compact free electron Laser) from Japan. The workshop was held in Palm Cove, Cairns, Australia from the 29 August – 2 September, 2011.

The workshop aimed to facilitate detailed discussion on the developments in the scientific fields enabled by XFEL and coherent diffraction imaging. With leading researchers from Australia, Japan, Korea, Taiwan and China the event proved successful in inspiring researchers from the wider scientific community to expand the potential for XFEL, potentially leading to research in exciting new fields of science and technology.

We would like to thank the SACLA team, the CXS team, RIKEN SPring-8 Center, the Australian Synchrotron and the Australian Nuclear Science and Technology Organization (ANSTO) for their support making this workshop such a great success.
