Physics of Ultracold Matter and Scattering

This workshop will concentrate on radiative & quantum scattering properties of the ultra-cold matter, multi-photon processes and imaging. The aim is to bring together and facilitate scientific links between the Australian theoretical and experimental research groups actively working in this area.

Focus areas include:

  • Fundamental questions of scattering theory: relativistic effects, electron correlation, effects of Coulomb interactions, multiphoton transitions
  • Trapped atoms: experiments and theory
  • High-harmonic generation
  • Strong field processes in molecules and atoms
  • Phase transitions, radiative and non-linear effects in ultra-cold matter
  • Unconventional methods of imaging
  • Laser control of atomic and molecular processes
