He's an associate professor and reader in the physics department here at La Trobe and a program manager in the Australian Research Council Centre of Excellence for Coherent X-ray Science. CXS Outreach Program

CXS’s Outreach Program has achieved considerable recognition including the inaugural Victorian State Impact Award from the Schools First Program run by the National Australia Bank and more recently the Eureka Prize.

In addition CXS has been the recipient of a Federation Fellowship, the Roche Molecular Biochemical Medal; a German Academic Exchange Service Fellowship; Bancroft-Mackerras Medal; ARC Australian Professorial Fellowship; Rio Tinto Prize; grants, cadetships and scholarships; plus poster and numerous oral presentation awards.
